Hello, my name is Amanda Jane Wilcox and I am the teacher and founder of “Spanish Step by Step”.
It all started back in 1989 when I first fell in love with Spain and the dream of one day being able to live and work in a country I had always greatly admired.
After many wonderful family holidays in Spain I felt the time had come to start learning Spanish, little did I know then, that the Spanish language was to become a life long passion of mine.
In 1992 at the age of 19, I finally got the chance to start living and working in Spain which became one of the most amazing and exciting times of my life!

Conversing with spanish people enabled me to capture some great practical learning which I had never experienced back in the UK. I began to see more clearly how the structure of the language is formed and how it is properly spoken in it`s country of origin.
Within year or two I had proved to myself and others, that if you have a passion for learning and you are dedicated to mastering a language you can!
One day, a friend of mine approached me to ask if I would teach her to speak Spanish.
Why not! So in 1995 “Spanish Step by Step” began with just a pen and paper.
I began making notes and plans for my course structure which would include all the basic teaching plus my own extra tips and explanations of all I had learned from living and working in Spain.
I updated my coursework many times before I was finally satisfied with my work and now it is a well detailed course, with simple explanations and examples giving a much clearer understanding of the way to learn the Spanish language. |
